Mrs Crown & Glory United Kingdom 2014-2015 Michelle Williams

About Our UK 2014 MRS UK Queen

My name is Michelle Williams, I'm 35 years old and I live locally in Mold.

I'm a fully qualified beauty therapist and make up artist and have worked for the likes of Paco Rabanne, Nina Ricci, Cacheral, Armani and Ralph Lauren.

I have also worked in the recruitment industry for many years recruiting for commercial applicants, NHS physiotherapists & Occupational Therapists and in-house recruitment for head office staff in; Iceland Foods Ltd!

For the past 4 years I have run my own business; it's called Eyelicious! I create bespoke HD Brows and LVL lashes, a must have for any girl or pageant queen!

In my spare time I'm normally in my wellies covered in mud, as I have a horse called fin. I have had him for nearly 9 years and he's one of my best pals!

How did you get into the beauty pageants?

Michelle:  I first got into pageants in September 2013, I was co hurst into it really by my lovely friend Hannah Hunter! She wanted me to enter the previous year, but to be fair, it's not the normal thing id do!!! Be on stage in a bikini... I didn't think so! However after some persuasion and support from friends and family I agreed! I was going on holiday 2 weeks before the event, so I thought to myself... At least I'll have a tan! Ha. The other reason I was persuaded to do it was the cause behind the whole event, this event was raising money for The Hospice of The Good Shepard, my friend lost her mum to cancer a few years ago and her mum was very kindly looked after in the hospice, so I just had to do it! X

What did you do in the run up to the MRS national final?

Michelle:  On the run up to the UK final I had planned an intensive 12 week boot camp in the gym, with my trainer Sarah Doran and also attended her kettle bell classes; as well as a kettle bells class by Tony Pupplett on Friday evenings, it was all go go go, operation get body ready I thought!

The UK final was now all in aid of The Dean Pupplett Appeal, a little local boy who diagnosed with neuroblastoma, so I really wanted to be involved and raise awareness for him. I carried out lots of appearances and got myself into the big papers around Flintshire, all of which raised my profile and the much needed awareness for Dean and the event itself.

I obtained local sponsorship from Tanz n Hanz, they provided me with all my nail and tanning treatments and I also had sponsership from Lexie Jones, who was responsible for doing my hair for the big day! X

How did you feel during Mrs Crown & Glory UK 2014?

Michelle: On the day of the UK final I felt nervous, worse than I did on the semi final, even tho I won my the Mrs Title in September.

I literally think as I had put my heart and soul into fund raising and raising awareness for Dean; the event meant a lot to me.

However, on the day of the pageant, once I got to see all the girls again, it was great fun, fantastic atmosphere behind the scenes and we were like little giggling children.

Having nerves is a good thing, just use them positively

How did you feel when your name was called as the winner?

Michelle: I was totally shocked when I was crowned the 2015 MRS winner! I really wasn't expecting it!

I was up against some fantastic girls and in particular were very experienced too; they all looked amazing and had worked really hard for the pageant.

My friends and family were over the moon and I could hear them all cheering in the crowd, it was amazing.

Do you have any tips for the stage?

Michelle: Literally be yourself, like the saying goes "everyone else is taken".

You really want to just enjoy it, have fun and let your personality shine through.

Perfect your walk and know what stance you want to use at the end of the stage.

If you have a long gown, it's always worth kicking your feet out a little, in order not to stand on your dress and trip.

Biggest tip is not too rush on stage, take your time, it's your time to shine and you want the judges to see you!

Any tips for preparing?

Michelle: Fail to prepare and prepare to fail!

I mentioned before that I endured a 12 week fitness programme, this was also the case for looking after my diet, nutrition and skin care regime.

In January 2014 I stated to use Tropic Skincare, it's amazing guys!

Cut out refined foods like sugary snacks and keep yourself hydrated with lots of water, it will definitely show in your hair and skin condition.

I made sure my hair was having regular conditioner treatments, ensure you have all your beauty treatments booked in advanced ready for the show.

Don't leave it to the last minute! A few weeks before the comp I was already making sure I had all my gowns, swimwear clothing and make up, pack your case the night before and then just relax.

What are your ambitions and plans for the future?

Michelle: At present I've not entered any further comps, I'm literally concentrating on business and future plans personally, a little time for myself, however it's not something I'd rule out, one day I'll be back on stage
